Episode 3: Tainted Notes

ChardonNOIR – Episode 1: Death by Chardonnay

The tasting room went silent the moment Claire Vignon saw the body.

Face-down in a barrel of buttery chardonnay. Arms splayed. Wine pooling dark on the concrete floor.

She’d been a sommelier for twelve years. She’d tasted thousands of wines. She’d never tasted murder.

The guests stood frozen, wine glasses trembling in their hands. Beatrice Chardonnay—wine club president and professional gossip—let out a practiced gasp. Too theatrical. Too rehearsed.

Rex Merlot from the rival winery stood in the corner, suspiciously close to the exit. His glass was empty. His alibi would be too.

And then there was Detective Rye Burns, who’d shown up “for the tasting” ten minutes before the body was discovered. Funny timing for a cop.

Claire knelt beside the barrel, breathing in the wine’s aroma. Oak. Butter. And something else. Something that didn’t belong.

“Nobody leaves,” Burns said, pulling out his badge.

But Claire was already two steps ahead. Because the wine was trying to tell her something.

Someone in this room had poisoned the chardonnay.

And Claire was about to find out who.

Who do you think did it? Drop a 🍷 below.
